Application Eligibility

  • Applicants must have received their entire elementary, junior high school education and have completed (or are expected to complete) high school education outside Korea at a comparable or equivalent level to that which is provided in Korea.
  • Applicants' parents are not citizens of Korea.
  • a. Applicants must have a "TOPIK" certificate for level 3 or higher.
  • b. Applicants must have completed [or be expected to complete]400 or more hours of Korean studies at an authorized Korean language institute, approved by the Admission Committee of Hyejeon college, in Korea or abroad.
  • c. Applicants completing Curriculums Of Korean language institute of Hyejeon college will be approved by the Admission Committee of Hyejeon college.

Evaluation Criteria

Admission will be determined based on High school transcripts, study plans and interviews.

Note: If an applicant's visa is not issued or is rejected despite being admitted to Hyejeon Korean Language Institute, His/her admission will be canceled.

An original certificate of his or her family relation [birth certificate]

Five color photos(4cm×5cm / taken within past 3 months)

Certificate of bank deposits of a sponsor : Certificate within one month issued by the bank of the sponsor with a minimum deposit balance of US$10,000 for at least one month

A copy of sponsor's certificate of employment (with income records, work phone number and address) or business registration and property certificate for a personal-service businessman or A certificate of sponsor's income tax (Certificate of a pension receiver issued by the government of a retired patron)

An original certificate of Korean language course completion

Notes for applicants

  • When difficult to confirm the facts (school system/semester/graduation requirement) only with submitted documents, applicants must submit additional needed documents and can be requested to submit the originals. All the documents must be translated into Korean and English attached to the originals.
  • When the names on the submitted documents are different, the applicant must submit additional identity verifications issued by authorized courts or the head of his/her embassy or consulate.
  • If any required documents are found to be false or counterfeit, your admission status will be canceled.
  • Any applicants submitting a certificate of expected graduation must submit the original copy of the graduation certificate before matriculation. If not received, his or her admission will be cancelled.
  • No submitted documents will be returned.
  • Required documents may differ by country.
  • All documents must be translated into English or Korean and attached to the originals.
  • Applicants completing the Korean Language institute course of our college and admitted into regular courses must change their visa from D-4 to D-2. In addition they must submit a certificate of more than $2,500 deposit balance issued by their Korean proficiency.
  • Applicants completing the Korean Language course of our college can differ on matriculation time for regular courses based on their Korean proficiency.
